Bus Timetable Changes
Please see a letter regarding the Community Bus Partnerships. We have been asked to consider the changes to the time table at our next Parish Council meeting.
This will have a big impact on the village and we welcome your comments before the next meeting on 1st September.

5th September 2015
Dear Clerk and Councillors,
I am working on behalf of the Rural Community Council with a number of communities who have formed local Community Bus Partnerships.
Four bus services are at risk of being removed and one of those serves your parish. Following meetings with Leicestershire County Council, it has been agreed that the services will continue for now with an expectation that a Community Bus Partnership group will encourage more people to use the service to make it viable. This has a period of three years to show significant results.
A partnership has formed for the Number 7 service that passes through your parish and I am hoping that you might be able to encourage a member or members of your Parish Council or of the local community who are known to you to be community champions. This can be done directly or by signposting them to myself. The next meeting of the partnership will be on Wednesday, 30th September at Sheepy Village Hall.
Please let me stress that these potential partnership members do not have to be users of those particular bus services but be willing to help with ideas and activities that will preserve the service for those that are. I am proposing to the group that we have a stall in each village to raise awareness of the bus service and help with this would be really appreciated. The service now has a new timetable for the No 7 bus which began on the 1st September. Members of our partnership group would be happy to come along to your meeting to discuss the new service and the ways in which communities can help.
We have identified that users of the bus service range from employees, students, young people, parents with small children, older people and really, all members of the community who will be affected if this bus is taken out of service.
The partnerships have been meeting for a few months now and are becoming established. To make this work well, it is important that members of each partnership represent all of the villages and towns through which the bus passes.
Can you help with this please? I am happy to contact anyone who might wish to get involved and I am happy for you to give anyone my details who you think might be able to help.
My email address is: email@example.com and my phone number is 07841 480 691
I do hope you can get on board with this and help to save what is a vital lifeline to members of your parish.
