Stray and Dangerous Dogs

A stray dog is any dog which is running free in a public place without its owner present.
NWLDC does not have a Dog Warden but Pest Control Officers will collect a dog that is tethered and not dangerous and take it to Hathern Dog Rescue where after 7-days it will be available for re-homing.
A dangerous dog is one that injures a person or animal and/or makes a person worried that they or their animal could be injured.

A dangerous dog can be ANY breed. If a dog is behaving in an aggressive manner this is a Police matter
A farmer is allowed to kill your dog it it's worrying their livestock.
